RESOURCES

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic or distressing memories so they are no longer as emotionally disruptive. An EMDR Intensive delivers this same approach in an extended format, allowing for deeper work in a shorter timeframe.

    The Science Behind It

    • Memory Reprocessing: Disturbing memories are stored in the brain in a “stuck” or unprocessed state. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sound) to activate the brain’s natural healing system.

    • Integration: This process helps the brain link the memory to more adaptive information, reducing emotional intensity and creating a new sense of perspective.

    • Efficiency: In an intensive, this reprocessing is sustained over several hours per day, making it possible to address multiple memories or themes in a condensed time frame.

    The Process

    1. Consultation & Assessment – A detailed consultation to understand your goals, history, and readiness for intensive work.

    2. Preparation – Learning grounding and stabilization tools to support you before and during the intensive.

    3. Intensive Sessions – Half-day or full-day blocks (4–6 hours each) focused entirely on your treatment goals.

    4. Integration & Debrief – Reflection, integration, and strategies for continued resilience.

    5. Follow-Up Support – A post-intensive session ensures continuity of care and supports your next steps.

Common Issues EMDR Intensives Can Address

    • Trauma from assault, abuse, or neglect (PTSD)

    • Painful childhood or attachment experiences (CPTSD)

    • Inner child and self-esteem work

    • Stress, anxiety, phobias, and OCD

    • Depression and negative self-talk

    • Recovery from accidents, injuries, chronic pain, or medical trauma

    • Burnout in high-stress or helping professions

    • Performance and creativity blocks

    • Addictions and unhealthy coping patterns

    • Healing after divorce or relationship breakups

    Why Choose an Intensive?

    • Accelerates healing compared to weekly sessions

    • Provides uninterrupted time for deep focus

    • Cost-effective due to the short-term structure

    • Especially valuable for professionals and high achievers who need results without the commitment of long-term weekly therapy

  • Preparation helps you get the most out of your intensive. Here’s what I recommend:

    • Consultation: We’ll meet beforehand to clarify your goals, history, and readiness.

    • Self-Care: Get good rest, stay hydrated, and plan light activities before and after each day to give yourself recovery time.

    • Mindset: Come with openness and curiosity—intensives can be challenging, but also deeply rewarding.

    • Logistics: Bring snacks, water, and anything that helps you feel comfortable (a journal, cozy sweater, etc.).

I’ll also teach you grounding and regulation strategies ahead of time so you feel prepared and supported throughout the process.

  • Both options use the same evidence-based EMDR approach—the difference is in format and pace:

    • Weekly EMDR Therapy offers 50-minute sessions once a week. It’s ideal if you want steady, consistent support, time to reflect between sessions, or prefer to work at a gradual pace.

    • EMDR Intensives provide extended half-day or full-day sessions over consecutive days. They’re best if you want faster results, have limited time for weekly therapy, or are navigating a high-stress season and need focused breakthroughs.

In our consultation, we’ll talk through your goals and schedule to determine which approach best fits your needs.

  • An EMDR session begins with a brief check-in to set your focus for the day. Together, we identify a memory, thought, or belief you’d like to work on. Using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or sound), your brain is guided to reprocess the memory so it feels less distressing and more adaptive.

Throughout the process, you remain in control, fully awake, and supported. Many clients describe EMDR as both powerful and empowering, as it helps reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences.

  • Yes. With over two decades as a dedicated mindfulness practitioner, including Transcendental Meditation, I weave meditation and evidence-based holistic techniques into my work. This approach combines intuition, empathy, and neuroscience-backed strategies to help clients:

    • Build self-awareness and emotional intelligence

    • Strengthen self-regulation and resilience

    • Cultivate clarity, focus, and balance in daily life

    • Lead with greater confidence, purpose, and authenticity

Mindfulness isn’t separate from therapy or coaching—it’s a supportive tool that deepens healing and fosters sustainable growth.

  • While both therapy and coaching are growth-focused, they serve different purposes:

    • Therapy is designed to help you heal from trauma, manage mental health concerns, and build resilience. It often looks at past experiences and how they shape your present.

    • Executive Coaching is forward-focused and performance-driven. It’s designed to help high achievers strengthen leadership, communication, and decision-making skills while navigating the pressures of demanding environments.

Because I’m trained in both, I can help you determine which path—or combination—is right for your goals.

  • I see clients in New York both virtually and in person. On days when I am in person, my office is located at 303 Fifth Avenue at 31st Street in Manhattan.
